THERE ARE SEVERAL DIFFERENT TYPES OF MEMBERSHIP. WHICH ONE BEST FITS YOU?
Active
|
Active duty members are the persons primarily responsible for responding to calls for service. Active duty members must be at least eighteen years of age. New members must complete a probation period of 6 months before being eligible for Full Active membership. All active duty members must complete training as an Emergency Medical Responder or Emergency Medical Techician. Active duty members may vote and hold office.

Associate
|
Associate membership are persons with a specific knowledge or skill that can benefit the squad without actually responding on calls for service. Some of the functions of an associate member can include but are not limited to, administrative duties, or to assist with fund rasing events. Additionally, a member from another squad or department in St. Mary's County may join as an associate member for the purpose of running calls.

Designated Emergency Driver |
Designated Emergency Drivers (DEDs) are persons that are willing to respond to calls for service in a "Driver Only Role". DEDs must be at least 21 years of age and possess a valid MD Driver's License and may not have more than 5 current points on their license. DEDs must become at minimum CPR certified and complete the MFRI Emergency Vehicle Operators Course.

Junior
|
Junior members are persons between the ages of 16-18. This is a period of training and observation. Junior members may enroll in an Emergency Medical Technician course. Junior members may respond to calls for service under the supervision of a crew chief. A grade point average of 2.0 is must be maintained.

|
Cadets
|
Cadets are persons between the ages of 12-15. Cadets will become CPR certified, participate in training and will learn great team work skills. Attending drills is a great way to prepare the cadets for future EMS classes.
